RIP James Ingram

There are four (!) separate threads on "Yah Mo Be There" but none on just the man and his work so let's correct that, though in the saddest of circumstances.

I have lost my dearest friend and creative partner James Ingram to the Celestial Choir. He will always be cherished, loved and remembered for his genius, his love of family and his humanity. I am blessed to have been so close. We will forever speak his name.❤️ pic.twitter.com/TDJfpbbJWa

Oh man, love "Yah Mo B There".

His vocal arrangements on Donna Summer's S/T record from 1982 (feat. "State of Independence") are incredible. RIP.

Think "Just Once" would have to be my all time -- had to have been the first song I heard from him.

80s AOR four-quadrant soundtrack synergy done right, AFAIC.

I know more of these songs than I thought, and I realize it's because my mom listened to a "lite" radio station a lot when I was growing up.

Daaaamnnn... I just played his late(r)-80s albums Never Felt So Good and It’s Real albums (both old favorites) last night because of the Quincy Jones discussion on the MJ thread. RIP James

What Joyce's Ulysses should have done to the novel "The Secret Garden" should have done to R&B balladry.

Guys with beautiful voices singing about exploring each other’s secret garden(s) - thrilling template indeed
