you are correct sir

Yeah, and if I'm not mistaken, Grohl has taken to playing either a replica of Greg Ginn's translucent guitar or possibly the definite article itself. A big Black Flag fan him, apparently.

i guess this thread is sorta related to the GOO thread.

but yeah I was walking into Amoeba the other day and glanced at the CD and was like hmmmmm.... i looked at the back but it's uncredited plus they have those plastic anti-theft thingers on the CDs.

thanks stuart and alex. alex, you know pitchfork (god love them) had a news item about a black flag guitar but they insisted that greg ginn didn't play a clear one and i was like, huh? ever seen any glen e. friedman books?

gygax!, Tuesday, 19 November 2002 00:52 (twenty-three years ago)

kind of related, but a buddy of mine has a bunch of those glen e friedman books, and i guess my interest was spurred in part by dogtown and z-boys, but being an east coast kid i find the stuff fascinating.

you know much about cynthia connolly and pat graham?

Glen E. Friedman lives down my hall. No joke.

higgins!

nope, i don't know those guys very well... what should i seek out?

I'm not sure if Insound still sells pics, but I know a few Pat Graham photos were up for perusal back in the day (along w/ some by Ms. Connolly, I imagine). Also, if you scoot over to dischord.com, I'm pretty sure there's more Connolly stuff. (Wasn't there some set of Connolly pic postcards released recently?)

there's a cool book from a few years back called banned in dc that has a bunch of great photos from the golden age of harDCore (minor threat, bad brains, circus lupus, g.i., etc.) that would be worth checking out.

I'm very surprised that learn that Pettibon's stock has risen so much.

can't wrap my head around having the disposable income to buy a multi-million dollar painting but having a line where you'll pay $2.2mn but you'll be goddamned if you're paying $2.3mn.
