they're kinda like built to spill but if they cared more about a different variety of noises and putting a different variety of sections of songs in different places of the song. a looser and weirder and less emo built to spill maybe? equal power though? what is it about these pacific northwest mountain bands that makes it sound like literal good rock music idea components all jumblin around in a shaky gold nuggets sluice runnin down from good rock music ideas creek on the rocky mountain stateline

this song has long been one of my go-to obscure indie mixtape jams

i listened to some of their stuff in August 2018, not sure why, kept around "the clever north wind" from 2006 and a couple of their other songs

there's supposed to be a decent cash-only burger joint up in helvetia, it's not that far a drive but i haven't made it there yet, maybe on my vacation next week

thanks, that is nice. that guitar sound is great. a little off-key or dirty. i have no idea about musical theory but that is not by any chance an alternate tuning?

one year passes...

I made this thread high on the marijuana reefer pot grass, which explains why I was mistaken that they were from Idaho (they're not, they're from Seattle). But anyway, that doesn't matter, I don't do that shit anymore cause Joe Biden called it a gateway drug. What matters is that they're still really really good. Especially this Junk Shop album. You don't have to be a guitar-oriented white guy home alone on a Friday night with a buncha wine in your blood to get into it, but it helps.
