i'm watching a movie called Coming Home tonight and they are playing the full 11 minute version of "Time Will Come Today" to basically close it out. not a big deal for this movie as they played full songs throughout with lots of Rolling Stone songs.
i remember hearing the full 11 minute version, while living in San Francisco, on my commute home one night, the experience was one of those music one of a kind moments. mesmerizing might be the perfect word.

or do people prefer the single edit?

It's great, and without parallel--an interracial soul group with an 11-minute anthemic psychedelic top-40 rock hit. I like the shorter version better. I even like the Angry Samoans' version. (The Ramones covered it too.)

I don't know anything else by them.

yeah it's a great song, and I've heard the full version on the radio more than once. I also constantly think this song is actually by War and confuse it with Spill the Wine. Also I just realized that eric burden was in War.

The parent album is quite good and pretty easy to find cheap on the format of your choice. "I Can't Stand It" and "Harlem" were staples at our local Soul Dance Party Nights.

My dad used to play this all the time when I was little.

Pedant alert: it’s “Time Has Come Today.” And it is so good.

Thank you!
Great example of why I should never post a new thread while drunk.

Watching a movie called On the Basis of Sex and they played this song. Always a good thing to hear even a piece of it.

The movie was about Ruth Bader Ginsburg and was petty good.

great to hear this song yet again, even if just some stupid commercial during a football game.

I still haven't seen Spike Lee's Vietnam film, but I think it's used in that.

I like this song, but Iggy Pop hilariously made fun of it on an interview I heard with him and I can't hear it the same way since

"I think a good song for you would be a 55-minute 'Time Has Come Today'...wait a minute, I think that's shorter than the original."
