Know any good ones that you can make out (understandable)?
Any other cools things like that people have dug up on albums or CDs?
Could be something other than a backwards message.

Thanks!

There is a pretty neat one on Tool's "Undertow" on that long ass hallucinatory song at the end...

I found it back in 1994 when my friend bought that album and told me that there HAD to be a secret message there because it was too weird not to be one. I used my computer to reverse the part where it says "This is necessary / Life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on life..." and it, surprisingly, came out saying "We all love him / We all love him / Here is [the] Satan / Satan / Satan"... Kinda weird, and I'm pretty sure it was deliberate on Tool's part, but I'm also sure they were just fucking with people who take things like that too seriously.

I think there was supposed to be one about Santa Claus on a soundgarden album...

hey on this point what was the 1st incidence of that thing where they flip a phrase bacwards & reverse it in rap songs (the ol fremme neppa venette trick eh)? the oldest one i can think of is on "No-one Can Do It Better" by the DOC (uh '89?) but i dunno.

if you play "Third Stone From The Sun" by Jimi Hendrix on LP at 45 RPM, there's some kind of transmission between astronauts about finding chickens on earth or something bizarre like that...

i can't remember exactly what that doc song said, something like "my man dre told me to kick one for the muthafuckin white boys"

i mean that bit after beatuful but deadly if thats what yr talking abt

ron (ron), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 01:54 (twenty-three years ago)

this is obviously an accidental reversal, but if you play "Another Bites the Dust" backwards (the chorus), it says "sfun to smoke mare-wanna." fuck yeah.

At the beginning of "Empty Spaces" on THE WALL, if played backwards it says something vaguely akin to: "Congratulations on finding the secret message. Please send your answer to Old Pink care of the Funny Farm in Chalfont."

lester bangs claimed that if you played "Vincebus Eruptum" by Blue Cheer backwards it sounded exactly the same as normal.

& - this isn't the same thing i guess - but isn't there some album by one of the henry cow or slapp happy guys where the entire lyrical contenet is palindromic?

this isn't on the Wiki list, but i always thought the bridge of the Foo Fighters' "Everlong" had some sort of backmasking going on. waaaay too jumbled not to be... right?

from wiki on the new Opeth album:

The song "Hessian Peel" contains a backwards recorded verse - "Out on the courtyard, Come back tonight. My sweet Satan, I see you" can be heard. This might be a reference to a well-known example of backmasking featured in Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven, which purportedly contained the phrase "Here's to my sweet Satan".
