spencer radcliffe and his sleepily shambolic country-rock

been digging Spencer Radcliffe's album Hot Spring lately. it's world-weary and death-obsessed, preoccupied with the passage of time. the music is a dreamy blend of countrified Chicago indie, with gorgeous guitar lines and piano lines falling all over the place. spencer seems like a prolific guy (used to record instrumental music under the name Blithe Field), so I decided why not a thread.

IDK anything about this band, but I found the thread title a funny coincidence because I had just looked at Pitchfork's old review of The Roadside Graves' "My Son's Home," which describes them as a "shambling folk rock group"

lol. shambolic is a cooler word than shambling tho

played this through once. some sweet guitar texture for sure. i think i like how bored he sounds.

i said "used to record instrumental music under the name Blithe Field" but it looks like he's still putting out Blithe Field projects, including one released in March (which I haven't listened to yet)

Yeah as far as I know it's ongoing, I'm myself a huge fan
