Stevie Ray Vaughn's contributions to Bowies' Lets' Dance: putrid or perfect?

I wouldn't necessarily say "PERFECT," but his Texan blues style made for an interesting contrast to Bowie's Chic-inspired slickness at the time, best highlit on the rendition of "Cat People (Putting Out the Fire)" which was a good deal more interesting than the original from the "Cat People" soundtrack. I'd be curious to have heard what that tour (the "Serious Moonlight" tour....good lord) would have been like had Stevie Ray not pulled out (his place being taken by Earl Slick and, briefly, old Bowie sparring partner Mick Ronson for a spell).

Well I think it sucks. Its so damn in your face. I'm glad he split. I prefer Fripp's wandering melodic idiocy. (that is a compliment)

Bowie's finest guitarist was Ricky Gardiner.
