lol my #1 which was "Teach Me How to Fight" @ #211. It's a simple song, I guess, but it still kills me every time I listen to it, which isn't often. One of those songs I save for special occasions.

Pretty good stretch of music from, like, 100-200. I was about to say something about my tastes being really out of step with ilm, but I had 13 in the top 77, so that's not bad. I'm excited for albums. Not really a tracks person and almost didn't participate in the tracks pool, but I'm glad I did. Was a lot of fun and discovered a few things I hadn't heard before.

Hello! I voted for YMSS though I'm afraid it was mostly out of nostalgia for going to a lot of gigs in Oxford in the 00s when they were a bit of a fixture on the scene. I don't actually get out their work very often these days but I do really like that song and it was nice to see it on the nom list.

one quick zomg-can't-believe: the ne-yo tune to have gotten the most votes (by far) was "because of you"! thought it would have been "so sick" but that one received no votes. i was the sole voter for "closer" :( here's a remix that i could have easily voted for instead of the original -- doesn't switch up the arrangement, structure or tempo much (which i respect, as it doesn't need to) but does take the tune into more straightforwardly sexual and emotional territory w/ its various builds and climaxes

The Vanessa Carlton, Leona Lewis and Daniel Bedingfield tracks were all on my long list! Ultimately I didn’t love them enough, but they’re all tracks that I enjoyed hearing whenever they came on the radio back then.

Not a single Kanye song placed in the top 100. Many classics not even nommed. Wow. If there was a bigger snub I can't think of one

I think a lot of it might have to do with the fact that kanye doesn't *really* have a signature, critically beloved hit from this decade in the way that Three 6 Mafia have Stay Fly or the way that UGK have Int'l Players anthem. You could vote for Flashing Lights, Stronger, Touch the Sky, love lockdown, or Slow Jamz (which i had at #11, though it was the Twista version) but there's not one that everyone unites over, i guess
