I'm sort of endlessly fascinated by how this station's playlists are generated: they seem to be built around a principle of being simultaneously as eclectic and as MOR as possible, like an inverted version of Oor Neechy's old rock polls.

(Winner is either Bee Gees or Arcade Fire, obv.)

'Fade Into You'

xp LOL, yes, they're remarkably effective at uncovering the deep MOR cuts for artists, obscure and otherwise.

That said, The Weather Station track still speaks to me so it'll get my vote.

This is what the general music programs on CBC tend to be like! Here's a playlog from last Sunday morning: https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/2-5540-weekend-mornings-on-cbc-music/clip/d20191208-sunday-dec.-8-2019

or yesterday afternoon (a different DJ for each of these but they all seem to manage to land in the same waiting room smorgasbord place): https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/2-5519-drive/clip/d20191213-friday-dec.-13-2019

They still have a few classical and jazz and specialty shows during off-peak hours. Before about 10 years ago, it was mostly a classical and jazz station, with several programs devoted to avant-garde music, which they've totally dropped bc they would wake people up in waiting rooms across the country and lead to a national health care crisis. Are there BBC stations like this?
