So I have, uh, perhaps a couple hours in Civilization V, and one of the features of the game is that you can create "Great Musicians" who will create "Great Works". In practice these are terrible MIDI renditions of, for instance, "Al Capone" or "Mbube", but the choices for the works themselves are often interesting.
So for this poll I've pulled out all the stuff I was familiar with - mostly stuff from the Western Classical canon, but also Al Capone or Mbube because I know I'd probably vote for either of those without listening to, say, Prince Benbadhanabangse. The flipside is that this poll will probably get perhaps three votes, but I'm OK with that. It's a good jumping off place, really, for people to hear stuff they haven't (and most of this stuff is on Youtube somewhere).
I left in Claude François because, sure, why not.
