Lucifer (former The Oath singer Johanna Sadonis's band)

idk how much interest there is. who likes Lucifer?

so I loved Lucifer I. I go pretty gonzo for that 60s-70s-esque doom/occult rock, and her voice is mesmerizing. Lucifer II, people start whisperin "oooh no this is pop oh the doom go bye bye" but I finally listened to it and it's actually great! it's a little more 'rock' (FM), but there are still riffs for days, the songs are still fuckin' there.

they're coming by on Sunday and I'm going to see 'em. Lucifer III is due out soon. judging by the first new track I heard (live on youtube), seems like Lucifer II is the way they're continuing. I can dig. anybody heard it (advance?)? anybody anticipating it?

saw them last night. fantastic live band, lots of fun. stomped through most of the new album, a few songs from the first, "Anubis", and a few covers ("Snowblind", Motorhead's "Bomber", ZZ Top "Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers"), as well as two new songs.

band is game, Johanna sounds even more phenomenal live. drummer is fantastic. would recommend catching this if it comes through your town.

Lucifer III sounds like it will be similar to Lucifer II, though possibly even more poppy. I can dig.

I was HUGE into The Oath, Johanna is a great singer. Lucifer is very good. I preferred the first album to the second, but I'm hoping the new one holds up okay.
