Where did I get this song? How did it end up on my hard-drive? Why does the lyricist seem to have such good taste in music?

Perhaps I can solve this mystery. I downloaded "Losing my edge" by LCD Soundsystem last night and the file is named "Aerial M" by Vivea. But it is definitely "Losing My Edge". The one that goes "I was there!" etc.

That should read "Vivea" by Aerial M. I am an idiot.

So the song I'm thinking about, where he says "I was there" and talks about Daft Punk and Scott Herren is actually "Losing my Edge" by LCD Soundsystem? That's kind've a relief; I was like, "I only got into most of these artists he's listing last year! How did he know about them in 1998!?".

Plus I found it hard to believe that I could respect the tastes of someone from the Chicago Collective. Ha! So I guess I can now reaffirm that I could not!

did I get this from Gabba/AMP?

Oh! Ha. I guess he was saying "Gil Scott-Heron", not "Scott Herren". My bad.

And now that I look back over the rest of the lyrics more closely, I can see that other than Daft Punk, I really like very little that this guy does/mocks. So: Moderator! Delete this thread!
