I agree! I just don't agree they're running on fumes, or at least won't agree until they release an album that is all fumes and no fire. Which they haven't yet.

Hood is a great storyteller live: also live he’s really good at bringing everyone together like he’s hosting the audience at his house. He cares & is a huge dork & he wants everyone to have a good time

Cooley live is the expressionless idgaf version of Keef minus smack, doing a pared down 70’s guitar god thing but you know he loves it & i would laugh at anyone but him for propping a foot on the foldback but on him it’s like YES

Cooley has a much higher batting average while Hood bares the load of supplying the bulk of the material for the albums while also acting as the defacto leader.

That said Cooley is one of the most u serrated songwriters (outside of hardcore alt-country circles). I mean look at this list (all are solid 8.5 to 10s):

Didn't see this in time to vote and I'm only really acquainted with Southern Rock Opera, but I would have voted Cooley based on his contributions to that record. All the best songs on there as far as I'm concerned.
