How come no one has panned Eyes Adrift yet?

Does everyone hate Noveselic so much that they aren't even bothered to talk about how boring his new record is?

Isn't this like his fourth post-Nirvana band?

I dunno. who cares?

Just wondering why no one has talked about it - even as a pathetic joke.

Pitchfork panned it last week. I honestly don't mind it, it's as relaxed and inoffensive as late-era Meat Puppets. It's not like they're on the cover of every magazine and need to be taken down a peg...

funny to see it called "his record" re: Krist. he sings on what, 3 songs? and isn't it more like his 2nd post-Nirvana band? Sweet 75 + EA = 2, unless you count that one-off gig with Biafra.

anyway it seems more like Kirkwood's thing, but he's been drifting a while himself, started a post-Puppets band, then couldn't get signed, so decided to use the MP name anyway, and made a shit record. and he has this really annoying bitterness and sense of entitlement about it all, which i'm sure is getting worse as this record bombs and the band quickly falls apart after the tour.

I think that Krist and Kirkwood would be a little better off if they'd call in The Master to work a little of his magic.

By The Master I could only mean Wesley Willis.

Since few will buy it, it does kind of feel in poor taste. I wanted to write a Mudhoney pan for the Voice but decided against writing one cuz hardly anybody knew they had reunited. However, if something gets OVERrated, than rip it down, I say.

I think it's quite good. The Novoselic songs are weak but the Kirkwood stuff is top notch, especially "Untried" and "Telescope." I don't sense the sense of entitlement (it's on SpinArt) and the record's nearly devoid of bitterness -- just a very resigned, increasingly sad album. I like it.
