Shadowy Men's Don Pyle ran an excellent Toronto record store in the '80s named Driftwood. (I think the store was owned by someone else, but I'm blanking out on the other couple of people you'd see there.)

Shadowymen's music was a pretty big part of the shows' style. Kids in the Hall used their music in quite a few different ways.

Both themes are well-suited to their respective show's vibe, but there's only one that I'll actually listen to on its own and think, "hey, this is pretty nice"

I used to have all the Shadowy Men albums. This was still my favorite track.

Years ago, I read an interview with Steve Albini, and in it he said the only two bands he would record for free were Fugazi and Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet. He recorded the former and it didn't work out, so went unreleased. He eventually recorded the latter, too, and ... it's not that great. However, those first two albums! Good stuff. Not a week goes by where I don't start humming "5 American/6 Canadian."

kith and shadowy men theme is all time, but space ghost coast 2 coast's end-of-show man or astro-man? theme tune goes hard.

There is so much (I assume) Shadow Men music in KitH besides the main theme, all kinds of bumpers that are great and memorable.

Actually I've always wondered, anyone know if all that music is taken from their records, or did they record music specifically for the show?
