Quite a lot of fresh talent as well as the old guard in force on this one. Sequencing was as much a thrill as a challenge!

It's working so far, though I'm kinda disappointed esby's track doesn't have lyrics.

Final track is creepily awesome but I must admit I thought it had finished and then it started up again.

That last section is actually El Tomboto's super-secret bonus track, grafted onto the end of mine.

Right, I thought it was a bit of a curveball ending!

i listened to all these earlier.. it was O_o as fuck. this record is awesome. I loved it. i loved the momus-y bedroom opuses and the plunderphonics chops, loved the apocalypse jams, and, oh? what a treat, an appearance by Dear Leader's beautiful unadulterated voice smack dab in the middle. loved every second. a couple favs were tangent's, blue weather ghosts, and AIXTC's <-- fr this was a legit banger. Sweet comp! 19/10

No problem, and receiving your own at the last minute, reminiscent of Grandaddy at their best (and Of Montreal in the bridge) was a delightful surprise! Plus it meant that two of us had done bird songs...

Yeah Humaniora’s is also one of my favourites for now. It reminds me a little of early Grimes !

She's got a great voice.

It is a really strong compilation album that is very professionally put together by each artist (and well-sequenced). 19/10! Atm I'm particularly enjoying Vaguely Threatening CAPTCHAs' very poignant, hazy melodies, esby's sick kraut-shoegaze opus, Nasty, Brutish and Short's psychedelic Death in June-y jam, and m bison's dark Miami synthpop. I'm also very partial to imago's Wire-esque songwriting. But honestly, it all sounds great to me, even things that genre-wise wouldn't normally reach me.

Finally getting round to listening to the original compilation and it's great! I tend to gravitate to the electronic/ambient pieces (love Tom, Lumen and ShariVari's) but good stuff all round.

I know, but I only get shit like this done when I'm actively interested and have momentum, and that unfortunately dissipates quickly for me.

Basically, at this point in my life, my inspiration/motivation to make new music depends entirely on ILX projects... So if I get this done, it will be my only song since ILX7. 1 song/year. sad (especially since I've been more or less in lockdown/WFH since march 2020 with PLENTY of time !).
