Hmm. Probably "You and Me," but I'll take this as an excuse to spin this again.

I love this album but I refuse to vote in this poll

My favorite Aretha album.

Best version of "The Thrill is Gone."

Gotta be "Pullin," "When The Battle is Over," or the tile track.

Missed this for some reason. Absolutely love Aretha, I would have gone with "Don't Play That Song" or the title track (most likely the latter).

Everyone's got favorites, but what are the great Aretha Franklin albums? I'd say there are six - I Never Love a Man..., Lady Soul, Aretha Now, Spirit in the Dark, Young, Gifted and Black, Amazing Grace. Plenty of good ones beyond that, with Atlantic and even a few more in the '80s, but if I'm not listening to a compilation, those six stand out for me.

all those & prob others

a rose is still a rose is a good later one which makes me want to explore the less canonised stuff more

I would put Soul 69 and maybe Hey Now Hey in there as well.

Oops. I'd be one more for "You and Me" probably.

it's so close between Don't Play That Song, Try Matty's, and the title track... all wonderful...

Probably would have voted for Try Matty's.
