the self-described "Colombian Larry David" and Polaris Prize winner has a fantastic album out this year that does not appear to have gotten enough attention.
Allmusic sez:
Her alluring music is awash with strains of cumbia, porro, synth pop, and soaring electro-orchestral arrangements that mix with sounds of her indigenous Wayuu and Afro-Colombian heritage.
anyway, listen to Miss Colombia, it rules.

Love Lido and I love that album so much. I'm in awe of her, I've never seen a human fill their days with so much productive activity

I've only seen her perform once and it was as Xenia Rubinos' opener at a half-full Drake Hotel gig in 2016. She was great but it's incredible what she's accomplished in just a few short years since then.

Yup, she's great.

It's good but a lot more pared-down and electronics-centric.

Yeah this album is definite top ten of the year for me.
Kind of a “what if Bjork’s Volta was really good??” vibe at times.

I'm glad someone else broke the Bjork mention seal because her voice has a similarly, wondrously nimble quality to me

curious about the album now

xxpost there's also moments on the album where she sort of takes flight vocally in a way that codes as deliberately-excessive ("excessive" not in the sense of being too much, but in the sense of signifying an overload of emotion that kinda spills over the bounds of the song) in a very Bjork or Rickie Lee Jones manner - but I'm reminded of Volta specifically in part because of how that approach then gets combined with very heavy percussive rhythms and lots of use of horns.

I love this album! Went back and listened to the one before it too, also good but I like the new one's range better.
"Nada" is one of my summer jams.

Man I'd really love to see her live. She seems like she'd be a natural for a lot of festival line-ups, when those start happening again.
