Jessie ware tough love poll

I know everyone loves her new album and all, but it’s almost 3 am right now and I’m being absolutely bowled over by this record. It’s grown on me over the years.. Devotion is probably better, but this one is comfort food in the form of sad pop music for me. And I’m sure by 2020 we’ve finally reached a consensus that the Ed Sheeran track is good

Champagne Kisses without even thinking twice about it.

I like Miguel's seal noises on "You and I Forever." The chorus of "Sweetest Song" gets stuck in my head sometimes. May go for "Champagne Kisses" or "Midnight Caller."

"Tough Love". I love this album so much. By contrast Devotion never really got me. I'm holding off on the new one until just the right time.

Joey Corona (Euler), Saturday, 4 July 2020 13:45 (four years ago)

The title track is still my favourite mainly because of, "so you wanna be a man about it, do you have to?" in the second verse. Want Your Feeling is a close second. Even though Devotion and the new one are much stronger albums overall, those are my two favourite Jessie songs.

title track

I'm not going to vote for it cause there are better songs on the album but could we admit that "Say You Love Me" is good

oh lol I didn't even notice the OP already mentioned it, shows how often I read the actual post when there's a poll

I don't think I'll be ever to fully love Say You Love Me. It's not that Sheeran is involved, it's that someone on her original thread (maybe Lex?) said the breakdown was very Jessie J like and I've never been able to unhear that.

kitchen person, Saturday, 4 July 2020 16:11 (four years ago)

The breakdown in say you love me is so unbearably cheesy, but the crescendo that leads up to it fucks me up so much that it's worth it

don't recall being particularly taken by any of this album's tunes sans the title track

dyl, Sunday, 5 July 2020 21:46 (four years ago)

Tough Love or Champagne Kisses for me. At the time I thought this was a way better album than Devotion, but now they're on fairly equal footing in my estimation.

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

I love the title track. The chorus is a bit unmemorable compared to the verses though.

"Say You Love Me" is a great song. "Champagne Kisses" is the clear peak of this album. "Share It All" and "The Way We Are" are my underrated faves. still gonna go with "Tough Love" which is transcendent beyond words

I missed the poll but would've voted for it.
