I waited tables at a steakhouse that had a free jukebox at the entrance filled with bad early oughts pop-country and then this soundtrack. They'd lost the remote to skip songs at some point.

Really enjoyed playing "O Death" and "Po' Lazarus" back to back to back to back for diners.

An impossible poll! But I am leaning towards Killing Floor, which this movie introduced me to, and which permanently altered my ears.

Yes the scene where King performs it is really indelible.

Putting the shitty cover of “I’ll Fly Away” on the soundtrack instead of the Kossoy Sisters’ original (which is played IN ITS ENTIRETY in one scene in the movie and even has the DJ character hype it up with “And I predict you gonna enjoy thoroughly!!”) was such a huge dick move.

BTW the Kossoy Sisters’ album Bowling Green from 1956 has “I’ll Fly Away” on it and it is a goddamn MASTERPIECE AND YOU NEED TO BUY IT RIGHT NOW. CAMPFIRE SONGS FTW.

never listened to this actual disc, had no idea the kossoy sisters version of Fly Away wasnt on there, thats fucking nuts. would be my obvious pick if it was there, otherwise tough choice between fairfield four and harry mcclintock

Love this movie deeply, due in no small part to personal memories (like my grandma singing along to every song the first time she saw the movie).

Voted for the Welch/Harris/Krauss song because that song pops into my mind in all the quiet moments of my life.

Not many polls where I can hear all the songs in head at first glance, but I guess I listened to this one a lot back in the day.
