De La is an 80s album and I think that aesthetic is way more Keith Haring derived than the amateur used CD bin vibe

xxp well, it’s ’89, when this aesthetic was in full “flower” (sorry) – and it has that “kids who grew up in the ’70s using hippie-style graphics” vibe. I guess there is a little Haring in there, too

I mentioned the Meat Puppets upthread but thinking about it I feel there's a whole bunch of 3rd tier records that came out in the mid 80s on SST and Homestead that have this look - Antietam 'Music From Elba', Das Damen 'Jupiter Eye', releases by Alter Natives, Phantom Tollbooth, Gone, Happy Flowers etc - all part of the whole DIY look that went a little more overground when grunge broke. But you could also trace it back to 'Music From Big Pink', Dylan's 'Self Portrait' and 'Planet Waves'

a good test is to paste the URL you are trying to post on an Incognito window and if it just shows the image, it should work

yeah I think the issue with some images (like discogs hosted ones) is they have all kinds of weird parameters in them etc because they're likely being transformed by the site's CDN.

The ones I've been posting here are actually from discogs; I didn't think they would work b/c the URLs are so funky, but they do...
