Sounds of the future vs. sounds of the past! (not really)

I fear I may be in the minority here, but man, I like Miss E SO MUCH better.

work it sounds better every time while who really wants to hear get ur freak on again, the same does not apply to lick shots however, miss e also doesnt have anything as bad as back in the day but i like gossip folks better than one minute man, so my answer is DA REAL WORLD!!

"miss e also doesnt have anything as bad as back in the day"
haha, that's a joke right?

on ballads... hmmm, 'pussycat' is fucking amazing as is the one with beyonce, but do they live up to saccharine smutz homo-synth of 'take away'? (i think so)

gossip folks vs. one minute man... 'gossip folks' no diggity, the luda verse is fucking acesome ('ludacris i get LOUD like timmmeh) and the old-skool chorus thing is cool as.

the sleeve of under construction beats miss e to a bloody pulp of photo-shop blue screens and printer ink.

miss e has shit loads of pointless filler, under construction has missy SAYING COOL SHIT in between songs.

i could go on...this is too easy

anyways strife, isn't 'work it' supposed to be the 'one minute man' of under construction?

Then what's the "get ur freak on"? (or the "4 my people" for that matter)

original bgm, Saturday, 23 November 2002 21:11 (twenty-three years ago)

i like a couple songs on every missy album

Okay I'm sure we've had this conversation before, but where is all the pointless filler on Da Real World and Miss E? (I'll allow some of the tracks from the first album)

I always thought Missy's albums tended to be surprisingly consistent - I can get something out of every song, which has to be a better strike rate than most hip hop albums.

"Gossip Folks" is like "One Minute Man" spliced w/ "Lick Shots" and it's therefore quite possibly my fav. Missy joint ever. I also have a weakness for distorted dirge-shuffling like "Slide" and "Pussycat" wisely grafts a groove onto the balladry sort of route (and has the cool conversation w/ pitch-lowered self). I dont really feel the Jay-z or Beyonce guesting ones but at a gut-level i'm w/ Under Constructioin.

I THOUGHT MISS E WAS GREAT AND ALL BUT I NEVER LISTENED TO IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH EVER! I'D JUST START IT AND GO THROUGH THE INTRO AND 'DOG IN HEAT' AND 'ONE MINUTE MAN' AND 'LICK SHOTS' AND 'GET UR FREAK ON' AND THEN I MIGHTTT LISTEN TO 'OLD SCHOOL JOINT' AND SOMETIMES IT WAS 'OLD SCHOOL JOINT' INSTEAD OF 'GET UR FREAK ON' AND BY THEN I WAS SICK OF IT. SO, FIVE GREAT SONGS!!! AND THE REST WASN'T SPECTACULAR. AT LEAST NOT FOR ME.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION, I WANT TO LISTEN TO EVERY SONG EVERY TIME. EXCEPT THE SAD ONE BECAUSE IT'S TOO SAD AND THE 50 CENT THING BECAUSE I HATE 50 CENT. EVERY SONG IS SOOO GREAT. LIKE, 'PLAY THAT BEAT.' I SKIPPED IT THE FIRST FEW TIMES I LISTENED TO THE CD BUT THAT SONG IS NOW MY FAVORITE THING ON IT. KIND OF THE SAME THING WITH 'SLIDE,' TOO.

MISS E HAD FIVE TOTALLY GREAT SONGS --- LIKE, SOME OF MY FAVORITES OF ALL TIME --- BUT THE REST OF IT WAS ACTUALLY KIND OF SUCKY. (I WOULDN'T HAVE FELT COMFORTABLE SAYING THAT BEFORE I BOUGHT THE NEW CD). BUT UNDER CONSTRUCTION IS GREAT ALL THE WAY THROUGH. IT'S ONE OF THE GREATEST THING EVER. IT'S LIKE MISSY WAS TRYING TO MAKE THE MUSICAL EQUIVALENT OF THE HOLOCAUST BUT BACKWARDS. IT'S AS GOOD AS THE HOLOCAUST WAS BAD.

STILL, 'ONE MINUTE MAN' > 'GOSSIP FOLKS.'
