I agree with this position FTR. I'm not putting my label's releases on any streaming services. Bandcamp only.

Moral/ethical question re: Bandcamp. I bought something from a New Zealand label back in November. Didn't hear a peep from them until end of December, when what I bought was apparently shipped. In that email it said I should expect my order no later than Feb. 4, which of course has come and gone. No shipment has arrived. I sent them a message via Bandcamp, following policy, and have yet to hear back. I feel bad ratting them out, but at what point do I open a dispute?

At this point I would. If you can I would try and contact them directly, I recently went through this with a label and my messages via Bandcamp didn't do any good, only when I emailed them directly (which turned out harder to do then I had expected) did I eventually get a response. Well, actually I got no response but my item finally shipped.

I have had to deal with this twice (different labels) and Bandcamp is really no help.

Bandcamp isn't responsible for fulfilling physical orders and has no mechanism for disciplining bad actors other than yanking their pages entirely. (I reported a white power label once and their account got deleted.) You gotta just contact the label directly. Good luck.

Sigh. How long do you think I should give the label to respond before I take it to Paypal? Tbf, I ordered the thing back in mid November, and customs delays and all, even from New Zealand I think they've had plenty of time to get me my shirt.

They didn't give you a tracking number? At this point I would be emailing them daily until I got a clear response.

I ordered from France-> USA and it sat about a week in customs, so the shipping process took only about 3 weeks total.

Bandcamp is really no help.

Are they reading this thread? Becuz last night Bandcamp responded to my request from...a month ago last night to say looks like I sorted everything out on my own

Lol, I finally heard back from someone last night, too (not from Bandcamp directly but by-way-of, the bassist in one of my favorite bands of all time, no less).

for bandcamp friday, ato records is donating a portion of proceeds on their whole catalog to npr and npr affiliates. good enough excuse to stock up on old '97s or my morning jacket or drive-by truckers or what have you
