I'm fairly sure it's Clover. Why he continues to use it when it's fairly common knowledge now, I'll never know.

The latter. He lately also appropriates the names of Holocaust widows, shhh... Male rock critics using female pseudonyms C/D? I heard that mark s. used to use one at the wire; true?

RIP Joshua Clover

There's a long intro part here, but Clover eventually starts talking about Jonathan Richman's song "Roadrunner"

The "Roadrunner" book was a few universes away from how I hear the song ("Where are you getting all this from? Not the song..."), but in the end, it did come together for me: a celebration of/accidental eulogy for an economic freedom teenagers would never again have.

He delivered a paper at the 2008 EMP Pop Conference the nexus of "Roadrunner" and M.I.A.'s "Bird Flu" that remains one of the most thrilling live experiences of my life. I loved his Jane Dark reviews in SPIN.

Do we know what he died of?

In 2019 he got hit by a truck while bicycle riding. I read someone guess that maybe he had longstanding health issues from that, but no offical statement has been issued.

Quesion about Josh Clover in "Ask Greil" today:

This is hard to address. Joshua was a longtime friend whose mother (Carol Clover, author of Men, Women, and Chain Saws) I’ve known even longer. We worked together and argued. I knew his health was tricky for a long time but I was shocked by his sudden death. I found myself crying when told my wife what I’d just seen in an email. His work (whether it’s his book-on-a-single Roadrunner or his poetry collection The Totality for Kids or his outrageous fanzine Sugarhigh written under the name Jane Dark) is dynamic, unafraid, and wicked, but I find myself thinking of his sardonic smile and his big red and yellow tattoo on his right arm.
