Anything really besides "Soul Control."

I'm much taken with the holy-fuck throb of "The Kill" and "Remember Where You Are."

But I voted for the title track.

Patriotic Goiter (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 9 December 2020 22:57 (four years ago) link

well, it was either that or POLL La La

or The POLL

Patriotic Goiter (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 9 December 2020 22:59 (four years ago) link

The Kill for me. Might be my song of the year.

Van Horn Street, Wednesday, 9 December 2020 23:02 (four years ago) link

or POLL Control!

winters (josh), Wednesday, 9 December 2020 23:08 (four years ago) link

"in your eyes"

Only hits.

Van Horn Street, Wednesday, 9 December 2020 23:09 (four years ago) link

what's wrong with "soul control"?

can leave "read my lips" tbh

cosmic vision | bleak epiphany | erotic email (map), Wednesday, 9 December 2020 23:16 (four years ago) link

"Read My Lips" has been my go-to since the beginning -- that's what I voted for

winters (josh), Wednesday, 9 December 2020 23:18 (four years ago) link

i am totally voting for "soul control"

mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Thursday, 10 December 2020 00:16 (four years ago) link

"step into my life" is the one i could leave, but it's still pretty good

mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Thursday, 10 December 2020 00:17 (four years ago) link

almost voted soul control

no duds on this thing

it bangs for thee (Simon H.), Thursday, 10 December 2020 00:20 (four years ago) link

Voting for Remember Where You Are just ahead of Adore You which hasn't lost any of its charm in the last two years.

Perfect album.

kitchen person, Thursday, 10 December 2020 00:25 (four years ago) link

Voted "Spotlight" but it's really heartbreaking I can't vote for multiple tracks

― Patriotic Goiter (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn)

These are also my 3 favorite tracks.

I’d add Adore You which I love but it was released way before the album and I don’t think it really works within it. It’s brilliant as a standalone single.

✖✖✖ (Moka), Thursday, 10 December 2020 03:26 (four years ago) link

Voting “remember where you are” because a decent “Les Fleurs” influenced song is a very rare gem. I think this and “Haley” by Big Thief are two recent examples I can think of that do it extremely well.

✖✖✖ (Moka), Thursday, 10 December 2020 03:33 (four years ago) link

"Spotlight" or "Remember Where You Are" but really, every song on this is amazing.

Roz, Thursday, 10 December 2020 03:47 (four years ago) link

This somehow snuck in and became my favorite album of the year, but I'm going to have to really think over what my favorite track is. There's at least 4 in contention.

Mr. Cacciatore (Moodles), Thursday, 10 December 2020 04:04 (four years ago) link

i still can't believe "overtime" didn't make the album but that would have only made this even harder to choose

ufo, Thursday, 10 December 2020 04:04 (four years ago) link

"save a kiss" (even tho it's a song robyn could have sung in 2011)

dyl, Thursday, 10 December 2020 04:25 (four years ago) link

'Adore You' is so, so good that I've really struggled to get into the rest of the album, though I regonise it's nice enough

cooldix, Thursday, 10 December 2020 05:37 (four years ago) link

The whole "If a dream is just a dream and a dream is just a kiss" section on "Spotlight" is probably my favorite moment on the album, but probably not my favorite track overall.

Mr. Cacciatore (Moodles), Thursday, 10 December 2020 05:44 (four years ago) link

"Ooh La La" has a good amount of sass

Mr. Cacciatore (Moodles), Thursday, 10 December 2020 05:51 (four years ago) link

This album is going to suffer from massive vote splitting in the EOY tracks poll isn't it

groovypanda, Thursday, 10 December 2020 12:39 (four years ago) link

That's fine, tbh. It'll be top 3 on the album poll.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 10 December 2020 14:42 (four years ago) link

Just gave this another run through and there are still so many high points but Remember Where You Are is the one that put a lump in my throat so that

or something, Thursday, 10 December 2020 16:48 (four years ago) link

Tho spotify told me Spotlight was my most listened to track last year

or something, Thursday, 10 December 2020 16:50 (four years ago) link

Think I'm voting for "Step Into My Life" because I'm a sucker for songs about dance floor romance.

Mr. Cacciatore (Moodles), Monday, 14 December 2020 02:53 (four years ago) link

Also voting Step Into My Life - the pre-chorus of "but it feels so right...", the stabs. As most are saying, though, a dudless album for me.

the body of a spider... (scampering alpaca), Monday, 14 December 2020 14:18 (four years ago) link

this is impossible. i've had it on loop all morning and the idea of singling out a """best""" track is still kind of horrendous.

davey, Monday, 14 December 2020 21:05 (four years ago) link

might end up on spotlight though, we'll see

davey, Monday, 14 December 2020 21:05 (four years ago) link

when "spotlight" dropped, that was a moment

cosmic vision | bleak epiphany | erotic email (map), Monday, 14 December 2020 21:12 (four years ago) link

poll. control. that's how i'll vote it to ya

maf you one two (maffew12), Monday, 14 December 2020 21:14 (four years ago) link

Disappointed this isn't a 12 way tie

Mr. Cacciatore (Moodles), Thursday, 17 December 2020 00:07 (four years ago) link

every track getting at least one vote is pretty impressive tho

dyl, Thursday, 17 December 2020 03:47 (four years ago) link

7. In Your Eyes -- 4:58 1

how on earth did this happen, this track is breathtaking

josh az (2011nostalgia), Thursday, 17 December 2020 05:35 (four years ago) link

the 12-way tie is the lowkey actual top pick imo

winters (josh), Thursday, 17 December 2020 16:30 (four years ago) link

two years pass...

tremendous album is this - just banger after banger, not feeling the new one too much yet.

vodkaitamin effrtvescent (calzino), Wednesday, 23 August 2023 11:41 (one year ago) link

yep

the dreaded dependent claus (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 23 August 2023 11:51 (one year ago) link

Loved the last album even the extra tracks. The new one sounds like the soundtrack to an exercise video.
