bah i'm still on my quest for that harsh/a ton of bricks suddenly drop on the dancefloor/loads of scratching track Vath played back in 95/96. goddamn it, it's one of a the great dancefloor moments ever, as good as Stardancer, Flash, etc.

Gareth have you by any chance heard the Vath/Hawtin at Eebeefa mix-cd?

Vath/Hawtin mix is wicked.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 20 January 2004 22:31 (twenty-one years ago)

You took your time with that reply Gareth. ;)

Man, I'm still looking for that track. Oh the humanity.

Omar (Omar), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 17:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Haven't heard any of these, but everybody knows that Sven Vath was so much better back when he was calling himself the Off or 16 Bit (or whatever he called himself when he did "J.R. is Dancing Pogo"), right?

chuck, Wednesday, 21 January 2004 18:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Haven't heard those singles/psuedonyms but I like the names!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 18:20 (twenty-one years ago)

And the name of his (late '80s) 16 Bit album (*Inaxycvgtgb*) is even better! And he covered Iron Butterfly on it! But his best song ever (which would be almost ANYBODY'S best song ever) is still "Electrica Salsa" by the Off, which goes "don't half to ask you to get up you do eeet on yore own baaa BAAAA baaa baaa." The only thing I really loved by him in recent years was that song "Pathfinder," where he really kept calling himself an "Ass finder" by mistake. The album it's on was okay, but I don't get his other recent Muzaky stuff at all...

Haha, that sounds great! I agree everything I heard from him as simply Sven Vath was pretty zzzzz. Progressive ambient house! Or something.
