these former clones of the 1975 have shifted the framework of their sound to early-avril matrixpop and all three new singles in this mode have resolutely slapped, so now they are my favorite band and this is their thread. new album who am i? (*moody teen voice* who am i!?!?!?!?!??!!?!!) out february 12

abandoning the sound of your first album to go pop is also a very 1975 move

self-clowning oven (Murgatroid), Wednesday, 13 January 2021 20:45 (four years ago)

00s revival is finally here! and i'm here for it, "easy" is especially great

ufo, Wednesday, 13 January 2021 23:53 (four years ago)

Was hoping to catch them a while back and annoyed I couldn't. So I'll take this!

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 14 January 2021 03:20 (four years ago)

First album had some really good tracks on it. Didn't realise they'd released more new songs after Change

groovypanda, Thursday, 14 January 2021 07:49 (four years ago)

mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Friday, 12 February 2021 15:25 (four years ago)

Just catching up with the “Fall to Pieces” video and thought “Yup, this is prime Brad music.” This is meant as a compliment of course!

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 13 February 2021 00:36 (four years ago)

I’ve been listening to “Easy” on repeat all day

winters (josh), Saturday, 13 February 2021 02:55 (four years ago)

only album i'm listening to

J0rdan S., Thursday, 18 February 2021 21:50 (four years ago)

Oof, yeah. The combo of Brad and J0rdan hype had me curious, but this is very much not for me.

soaring skrrrtpeggios (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Thursday, 18 February 2021 22:11 (four years ago)

How much longer will it be till we see Brad hyping a new band that just sounds like Limp Bizkit? Or did that already happen?

MarkoP, Thursday, 18 February 2021 22:46 (four years ago)

no band has been shameless enough to fully resurrect the limp aesthetic

mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Thursday, 18 February 2021 22:47 (four years ago)

but i repped the poppy album last year which is at least partially nu-metal

mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Thursday, 18 February 2021 22:48 (four years ago)

Well red caps were an integral part of the limp aesthetic, and it's still going to be a while till someone starts sporting one of those again.

MarkoP, Thursday, 18 February 2021 22:50 (four years ago)

perfect album

the openning run of 5 tracks + 'you don't own me' are honestly as good as Let Go

flopson, Saturday, 20 February 2021 19:04 (four years ago)

The hi-hats in "The Tide" (from an earlier EP) are the equiv of a guest rap verse spread out over the song, to where they basically deserve a feature credit.

one year passes...

new single. album coming

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsLwaNLwbVo

unsurprisingly sounds like they moved away from the overt avril homage of the last album. not sure this one works for me honestly

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 10 May 2022 00:44 (three years ago)

gonna put the first album on

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 10 May 2022 00:46 (three years ago)

ivy., Wednesday, 2 October 2024 18:24 (one year ago)

ivy thanks for posting this, i have the album saved but didn't vibe w/ the last one so i haven't checked it out yet. moving to the top of my list tho!

slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 3 October 2024 21:48 (one year ago)

i think like their other records it suffers a little from staying too much in one gear but the hooks are all really good and makes me long for more dream pop that is really explicitly lesbian
