btw if you're averse to listening to a new (or any other) John Mayer single, he really goes all in on a "Steve Winwood in 1986" thing with "Last Train Home." I hate how much I like it.
― Johnny Fever, Sunday, 6 June 2021 03:52 (five years ago)
Man, the first single (Last Train Home) is abysmal though. Like they found the last little part of the recent past that hasn't already been fully mined. The mine is about to collapse.

I'm still pissed off this isn't correctly named Friends Who Break Your Heart. idc if that makes me a grammar cop, but I'm already predisposed to hate this album.
― Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Saturday, 7 August 2021 17:10 (five years ago)
If the average person doesn't even recognize that it's a mistake, then yep, you're a grammar cop. Grammar in the linguistic sense of the word is intuitive to native speakers of a language.

― Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Saturday, 7 August 2021 17:46 (five years ago)
Googling around, it looks like one of those things that has been done for centuries, and was never really a “rule”? I’m no expert myself, but that’s what these others are saying anyway.
