I'm really thinking classic on this one. The horns, the little guitar parts, and Artie.

I think that is my favorite track on Forever Changes.

Classic. Listened to this last night at the ladyfriend's.

Altho my favorite track off Forever Changes is probably "The Red Telephone" as it predates "1999" by like 20-some years (and is still relevant now).

I lurrrve this one! This and "Alone Again Or" are my fave Love tracks, and it's regularly on compilation tapes I make for my walkman. When I'm listening on the walkman, I'm always conjuring up movie scenes where the song I'm listening to would be apt. This tune, I think, would be perfect in a scene where a country boy arrives in the city for the first time, and is taking in the griminess, the sights, the sounds.

ha Kilian I do the same thing with songs. Im always making up my own scenes. Alone Again Or is fantastic as well and its used well in a great scene from "Bottlerocket"

One of the things I love about "Forever Changes" is most of the songs sound really upbeat, but are really bitter and misanthropic.

What I love about "...Clarkdale" is it sounds upbeat and it is upbeat.

the song is definitely a trip (as is most of the album. I never liked "You Set The Scene" though). My fave is still probably "A House Is Not A Motel". They turn into the Feelies at the end (though that's not my reason).

this really is a wonderful song.

Absolutely - it's SO catchy!

the more I listen to it the more I agree with Killians assessment of it. Definately a great song for a movie.

A goddamn classic, I love the way Lee leaves the last line of each stanza off then plugs it with the first word of the next, good style. Having said that 'the Daily Planet' is the best song on the album, you know, that sliding guitar comes in and you're like "hello", then that drum roll down, and you're like "hey" and finally that so-loud stepping bass fills up the speakers and you're like "hi".

"A House is Not A Motel" just really kicks ass.

"Wonder People(I Do Wonder)" is another great one. Should coincide with Killians country boy big city movie scene.
