He really went in on the whole pandemic ambient playlist/lo fi etc approach for this release.

I'm on track 17 so far and it's really great. Def ideal for background listening though.

Am finding this FB track-dump really daunting, but still managed to cherrypick an hour 45 mins from it that I really liked.

The Gendel/Wilkes duo album from 2018 is a bit of modern cross-genre/millenial 4th-world electronic/beat-scene/jazz benchmark, I (and undoubtedly many others) would argue?

Satin Doll is such a fresh execution of a 'new standards'-themed album--FYI the fellow on electronic drums in that trio, Philippe Melanson, is in a (IMO) pretty interesting indie-pop/R&B/jazz-trained outfit here in Toronto called Bernice, whose new album is out in a couple of days: https://bernice.bandcamp.com/album/eau-de-bonjourno

If I was Sam Gendel I would definitely release a six minute EP called ‘Run Club’ with song titles like “Love That For Me” and “I Strongly Believe in the Power of Making the Bed” that sounds like Oval crossed with Matmos.
