Sequel to Sadness (Sund4r), Wednesday, 21 April 2021 21:17 (four years ago)

Best or worst? And do I have to listen before voting?

Halfway there but for you, Wednesday, 21 April 2021 21:23 (four years ago)

Yes to both questions.

pomenitul, Wednesday, 21 April 2021 21:24 (four years ago)

Your vote counts double if it is based solely on the critical discourse!

Sequel to Sadness (Sund4r), Wednesday, 21 April 2021 21:30 (four years ago)

just so tired

Camaraderie at Arms Length, Wednesday, 21 April 2021 21:34 (four years ago)

Tramp Stamp has a female vocalist, so I’ll automatically pick them

beamish13, Wednesday, 21 April 2021 22:23 (four years ago)

I was trying to pinpoint which specific late 90s/early 00s pop-punk song "I'd Rather Die" reminded me of. The correct answer is probably "a bunch of them put together" but I think the melody in "with another Ryan" was making me think of "my car is in the front yard" from Lit's "My Own Worst Enemy".

Sequel to Sadness (Sund4r), Thursday, 22 April 2021 00:11 (four years ago)

Yeah, they're both mi-do-do-re-mi-do in the same rhythm - Lit in E, Tramp Stamps in F.

Sequel to Sadness (Sund4r), Thursday, 22 April 2021 00:41 (four years ago)

Hahaha!

The only winning move is not to play.

fuck you for making me need to now go listen to (1) a band called tramp stamps (2) that presumably sounds like GVF. fuck you man.

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Thursday, 22 April 2021 12:18 (four years ago)

Man, Tramp Stamps is awful. I vote Tramp Stamps.

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Thursday, 22 April 2021 12:20 (four years ago)

Tramp Stamps at least wrote a song with an idea behind it. I think if they were slightly better songwriters it might not even be bad, it's just executed in kind of a clunky way.

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Thursday, 22 April 2021 12:26 (four years ago)

I have not heard any Tramp Stamps.

Pfunkboy AKA (Oor Neechy), Thursday, 22 April 2021 13:27 (four years ago)

try it, you'll love it!

rob, Thursday, 22 April 2021 13:28 (four years ago)

what these two bands really have in common is that I have nothing at all to say about their music

Camaraderie at Arms Length, Thursday, 22 April 2021 13:29 (four years ago)

Posting twice when you have nothing to say is 100% in the spirit of this thread and highly encouraged.

Sequel to Sadness (Sund4r), Thursday, 22 April 2021 13:34 (four years ago)

I'll do it again, you wait

Camaraderie at Arms Length, Thursday, 22 April 2021 13:35 (four years ago)

I prefer Greta Van Stamps and Tramp Fleet

The Von Tramp Family

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Thursday, 22 April 2021 15:23 (four years ago)

I still need to listen to Tramp Stamps before I vote, but I just want to remind everybody that Greta Van Fleet took their name from an elderly woman in their hometown named Gretna Van Fleet.

Greta.

Gretna.

That is all.

peace, man, Thursday, 22 April 2021 15:30 (four years ago)

i dont even own a tramp stamp

nobody like my rap (One Eye Open), Thursday, 22 April 2021 15:37 (four years ago)

fucking hell, this tramp stamps song is fucking awful

Pfunkboy AKA (Oor Neechy), Thursday, 22 April 2021 15:42 (four years ago)

i'd assumed there was at least a camper van beethoven-esque "van fleet" joke in there

devil sticks in trench coat (Sufjan Grafton), Thursday, 22 April 2021 15:54 (four years ago)

but even in this, they disappoint

devil sticks in trench coat (Sufjan Grafton), Thursday, 22 April 2021 15:55 (four years ago)

The Tramp Stamps thread is more interesting the Greta Van Fleet thread. Nonetheless, I abstain.

Halfway there but for you, Thursday, 22 April 2021 15:58 (four years ago)

leaning toward the music of "Tramp Stamps" being worse because i can understand the lyrics

devil sticks in trench coat (Sufjan Grafton), Thursday, 22 April 2021 15:59 (four years ago)

'how much we bone' etc

devil sticks in trench coat (Sufjan Grafton), Thursday, 22 April 2021 15:59 (four years ago)

Ok, done my listening. Greta Van Fleet makes me feel angry and superior while Tramp Stamps make me feel sad and uncomfortable.

peace, man, Thursday, 22 April 2021 16:02 (four years ago)

how much is Sund4r billing for these sessions?

devil sticks in trench coat (Sufjan Grafton), Thursday, 22 April 2021 16:03 (four years ago)

I still need to listen to Tramp Stamps before I vote, but I just want to remind everybody that Greta Van Fleet took their name from an elderly woman in their hometown named Gretna Van Fleet.

meanwhile, tramp stamps got their name from their hometown's disgraced mayor dinald tramp

voodoo chili, Thursday, 22 April 2021 16:05 (four years ago)

I'm imagining the Tramp Stamps are a Gen Z social media-aware version of the Donnas? Is this close?

keto keto bonito v industry plant-based diet (PBKR), Thursday, 22 April 2021 16:07 (four years ago)

Less cock rock and more Sum 41 than Donnas, but not a terrible starting point.

pomenitul, Thursday, 22 April 2021 16:09 (four years ago)

the difference between tramp stamps and all the bands they are being compared to on this and the other thread is that the other bands are all at least interesting to listen to, and tramp stamps are not at all.

yes, three times.

was on reddit and some of the discussion was from gen z/zoomers who were saying tramp stamps were like a millenial's idea of something that would appeal to gen z

maaaaaan that sentence makes me feel old

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Thursday, 22 April 2021 16:40 (four years ago)

I listened to a Tramp Stamps song and it's fucking abysmal but I refuse to even listen to Greta Van Fleet, so Tramp Stamps win.

Authoritarian Steaks (Tom D.), Thursday, 22 April 2021 16:42 (four years ago)

wise decision

I don't recommend Googling it.

Sequel to Sadness (Sund4r), Thursday, 22 April 2021 19:34 (four years ago)

GVF would brag about how much they love eating pussy then would be terrible at it.

Joe Bombin (milo z), Thursday, 22 April 2021 21:21 (four years ago)

Only one of these bands has been compared to a cumming hyena.

Joe Bombin (milo z), Thursday, 22 April 2021 21:21 (four years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

Only one of these bands has been compared to a cumming hyena.

U&K factor.

Sequel to Sadness (Sund4r), Tuesday, 27 April 2021 00:01 (four years ago)

I think I would listen to GVF before Tramp Stamps, gun to my head.

Sequel to Sadness (Sund4r), Tuesday, 27 April 2021 00:02 (four years ago)

They remind me a bit of early 90s rock radio, which is a better memory than early 00s rock radio.

Sequel to Sadness (Sund4r), Tuesday, 27 April 2021 00:06 (four years ago)

GVF singer should bring it down a few octaves for the late ‘90s post-grunge rumble.

There was no wrong answer in the end

(insofar as there was no clear question)

Sequel to Sadness (Sund4r), Wednesday, 28 April 2021 01:44 (four years ago)

No right answer either, though.
