There's something right and proper in MC Taylor not having his own thread because as fella with guitars go he does feel kind of minor but damn, sometimes he just cuts right to the heart of me. Anyway, here's a thread on which to discuss/ignore him.

I saw him with William Tyler in a tiny pub up the road from here (no one plays here; I'm still gobsmacked it happened tbh) and was really there for Tyler. Taylor just played in his grubby jeans and held the whole place like we were made of sand. I like the full band stuff but it's Taylor on his own with a guitar that really gets me. Anyway, this song has just split me right down the middle.

I've given these guys a chance in the past, but they always caught me on the wrong day and went in one ear and out the other (probably my fault, not theirs). But I heard a new song by them the other day and it was pretty and good but I was still mostly struck by how much it sounded like War On Drugs/Kurt Vile:

That new track is nice enough but like Josh says, kinda generic.

I love Poor Moon but Bad Debt is my go-to record.

wait which is the one that's all solo home recordings in his kitchen or whatever? that's the one I meant

yup, Bad Debt

yeah poor moon unsurprisingly is the one w a canned heat vibe, lotta swampy cornball arrangements

Poor Moon is great but I feel like that may be all I need from them, though I’m surprised to hear they’re mining the war on drugs vibe. Not that that’s a draw.

Bad Debt is one of my favorite releases from the past decade. I listen to it constantly.
