Everything is good as long as you never hear it

The logical follow-on to Julio's truism. What music do you know is just great that you've never heard (and perhaps more trickily, never want to actually hear?)?

Sometimes I think I'd be much happier never listening to anything at all, which would allow me to think there was this entire world of fantastic, fantastic music out there just waiting for me to listen to it! I could say with utter conviction that all music was GREBT! But alas, I actually go and listen to a bunch of it, and these bands that had a wonderful place in my heart because of all the hype and/or expectation are suddenly reduced to sad sacks that should be destroyed immediately because they suck so badly.

i'm more of a fan of everything sux as long as you don't hear it, like andrew wk, who definitely sucked hard-hardcore before i ever heard him.

but to answer the question, i would have to say The Girls. As long as I never hear them, they're on my A-list.

This weekend I bought 3 CDs by people I had never, ever heard before but had heard OF in such a way I was certain I would like them. I bought Vernacular Homocide by Mike Ladd, The No Music by Themselves, and Paulelujah by MC Paul Barman.

I liked Paulelujah the first time I heard it, and it pissed me off every time after, with the sole exception of "Bleeding Brain Grow", if only for the line "you make my karma puke/you who refuse to disarm a nuke".

The Mike Ladd and Themselves albums, on the other hand, are a couple of my new all-time favs.

As mentioned on the Sunshine Pop thread, the Free Design! Due to Fritz's haunting description of them, I'm totally worked up about hearing the record. The sense of anticipation is so thrilling, I probably shouldn't even buy it.

The Fall!

PS: Ned you misspelled "Fah" or possibly "Bah"

Otis, if you're talking about The Girls who did "Chico's Girl" you should hear it!

Sean, I'm worried. They're not really that creepy to most people, i'm just neurotic!

The Free Design are the most incredible group ever. So so so wonderful.
