Oh, need to listen! I liked the last one and love the tracks released so far.

It's good! I haven't spent enough time with it to say that it is better than Atlanta Millionaires Club, which was one of my most listened to albums last year. Room Temperature is so damn great. And Kingston...

I'm glad you've made a thread for this album. Atlanta Millionaires Club was a real slow burner that's now become a favourite. I'm finding this one more instant. There's something so warm and comforting about her style of songwriting. Her vocals remind me of Natalie Prass at times.

Discovered Mei Ehara today thanks to this π

Album is good. Hey yeah what is Natalie Prass up to?
i dug the vibes of atlanta millionaires club but didn't really respond to the songwriting, with the exception of the obvious standout "room temperature."
i've liked the singles so far though, excited to listen

wow so far this really does sound a *lot* like the 1st natalie prass album, not complaining though

it doesn't sound that similar to me, that album was all about the lush orchestral arrangements?
― ufo, Saturday, 26 June 2021 23:19 (four years ago)
Yeah, this album is definitely more stripped down. It's more about her vocal style and delivery that's similar.

yeah i hear that much

I like this album a lot, after two times through several of the songs already stand out. I wish it had a bit more dynamic range and that "Cheers" wasn't such an outlier. The songwriting is strong but the similarity in tempo and production throughout can make things blur together. Still, a very nice record. Definitely good rainy-day coffee shop music, in a good way.

new album is all about letting waves of repetition wash over, i like it

Yeah, itβs very nice. Meditative β70s singer-songwriter slow-weekend-after-a-breakup vibes. Drinking tea, making no plans, watching the afternoon light change.

lol my last post here was calling her rainy-day coffee shop music, this one is more like tea on a cold sunny afternoon. (Maybe the next one will be cocktails at a slightly sketchy lounge.)

I'm getting used to it.

Wanna Quit All the Time my favorite one in here. Opening track sounds like Wilco.

The queen of dreamy major 7th chords strikes again
― J. Sam, Friday, 1 March 2024 22:24 (one year ago)
this is a good album. wilco comparisons are otm, which makes sense since she cited them as a major influence in her rolling stone interview (the same interview in which she said she didn't care for dylan or the beatles, which is whatever because she also said she loves wilco who very clearly worshipped them both)

i listened to her last album a lot as i was going to sleep, i suspect i'll do the same with this one. it's not a knock, more a testament to faye's skill with woozy, dreamy repetition

"he loves me yeah!" sounds like a lost grandaddy recor
d
"I know I'm funny, ha ha" is a line that plays in my head most days since listening to it. Beautiful 5 seconds of music

finally listened to her because her tiny desk performance is fucking fantastic. now i'm a big fan. love the new one the most

I gave her a chance but it sounded like Sarah label but without actual charm and nice melodies
― LightUserSyndrome, Sunday, 9 February 2025 00:34 (six months ago)
... same goes for Alvvays
I like the new album but for whatever reason didn't listen to it as much the last two. I should circle back to it. I love her vibe, that kind of rainy-day '70s pop-soul.
