This long-time Bay Area experimental composer/media artist does not yet have her own thread and has only been mentioned a small handful of times on ILX from what I can see. RVNG Intl. is reissuing her 1988 album 'Echolocation' this week and I'm already psyched about it from the samples I've heard. The title track is wonderful, consists of just her looped voice and a woodblock but it's totally entrancing.

She has a pretty formidable recorded discography aside from this, both solo works and collaborations with others, of which I'm largely ignorant - anyone have particular favorites they'd recommend?

One that's stuck in my head was built around what tech pros explained about for instance hacks and crufts, in 90s terms, and maybe with some older examples.
(Her younger sister and brother had a good band, Maroon, which got into some difficulties with upstarts Maroon 5, don't know how that turned out, but Maroon made very expressive, sometimes elegant rock incl. tronics, though not "tronica," CDs.)

Dear eList!
This month heralds the re-issue of my 1988 album ECHOLOCATION, which is being released on vinyl by RVNG's Freedom To Spend label.
In celebration of this release, I will be giving a free, in-store performance followed by a Q&A, at their lower east side record store Commend
this Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 4pm
I will perform a short set, including live versions of some of the tracks from the album (as well as a few works from my latest CD, A Secret Code).
The event is free, but you need to show proof of vaccination and wear a mask to enter the store.
