Metalheadz Records Platinum Breakz compilation versus Ca$h Money Records Platinum Instrumentals compilation. immaculately produced jungle noir or tacky electro bounce? which is more rhythmically compelling/innovative and why?

Tim F., Jess, d k etc to thread. I would imagine that the Cash Money instrumentals are hardly "tacky". The only problem with hip-hop instrumentals is that they're a little under-arranged without the vocals (intentionally, of course - to leave space for the percussive addition of the rap deliveries themselves).

re: tacky - sorry, poor choice of words. i meant to refer to the vaguely cheesy faux-classical and latin melodies and the lo-fi quality of the tracks in general.

they are kind of tacky, i think. and lo-fi. and casio-y. they're really messy and slowly funky in a great way. i don't know much about these kinds of things but they don't seem to go along with a normal sequence, kind of. the beat goes all random and wrong sometimes. it's pretty neat, mostly. the songs are.

baby got the neptunes and timbaland and swizz all those other fancy guys for his debut. i guess mannie fresh is only good enough for lil wayne now or something.

< 3 mannie.
