it's funny, twenty years ago, i could have named twenty of these off the top of my head, just from owning CDs and spending so much time flipping through used CD bins. but it's all faded away after two decades of only buying vinyl except for friends' bands if they only had a CD.

These things always made me nervous about breaking and replacing them.

There a bunch of No Limit label albums that used those hard monochromatic plastic cases (as seen above w/the deluxe Very) with decal covers.

yeah ditto the number 1 of the list (Josh Rouse, is actually on Rykodisc too) so it sorta don't count either even though it isn't a reissue, maybe they had some leftover greenish cd trays and started running regular albums with 'em as well.

xpost My Elvis Costello singles comp on Ryko was green tinted, as were the Morphine CDs I've seen. I don't think that was limited to reissues.

Iirc, Ryko tried to get a trademark copywrite on those green cases!

Rykodisc trademarked their green tinted jewel cases--I think it's usually mentioned in the fine print with the copyright info.

They were also fragile. The prongs holding the disc broke off all the time.

This was a band I played with, CD was in a red jewel case, the artwork was an anaglyph, when you looked at the artwork in the jewel case it was all skulls/blood/etc, then when you removed the case the actual artwork was ice cream cones, little funny animals, etc. I think you might have had to physically disassemble it in order to get to the song titles & credits and if that isn't the case it is what we should have done. We did manage to duplicate it for the LP release as well.

Turns out I get the Morphine Rykodisc too, it doesn't work quite as well compared to Josh Rouse, in fact it's a mess (with Rouse I thought it was a one-off intentional thing).
