Possibly a monstrous question to ask but: what's the likelihood of the new Melchior getting some form of digital/CD release? I can't find any reference to this anywhere yet but may be looking in all the wrong places

If it’s Perlon they don’t do digital but the albums generally get a CD release

Although since the vinyl came out last month maybe not in this case? The 3lp might be too long for a single cd. Just speculating here

New Tony Price album is very good

In late 2020, Tony Price found himself stuck in Los Angeles, unable to fly back to his native Toronto because of Covid-19 restrictions. But he found another way. A former radio DJ Price knew was selling their 1981 Lincoln Continental Mark VI, so he bought the car, intending to drive back to Canada in style. He found a bag of cassette tapes—homemade mixes and radio show recordings from the late '80s replete with motorik Detroit techno, thumping Chicago house and advertisements for products that only exist in memory—stashed in the trunk. The tapes and the old car made a perfect match, and Price played the cassettes constantly during the long drive from California to Ontario.

After his road trip, Price scoured the tapes for samples, pulling together what would become his new album.

Because I have weird thoughts, often when I am listening to an exciting tune like this I conceive of it as a conversation between other artists across time, and as I was listening to this I was imagining a portal between Metope circa 2004 and Ill Blu circa 2011.

This one hasn't grabbed me half as much as 'All The Land' from last year, but that one really did push my buttons. Love the sawtooth bass, the complex syncopations and the intricate little sounds that give it a similarly exotic feeling as 'All The Land'. They maybe could have taken their foot off the panned-delay a little on the drums though as it give the whole thing a slightly watery, intangible feeling that stops me being able to fully dive in - everything's just a little bit wide and messy.
