Steadily winning over fans of all musical predilections with their intoxicating melodies, earnestly anecdotal lyrics and killer live shows since 2012, it's high time PUP got a thread. It's pop punk, but rendered with so much originality and scrappy enthusiasm that even if this isn't your usual wheelhouse, you might end up being endeared regardless.
If you're not familiar, the lead single off their new album (along with characteristically charming video) is as good a place to start as any:

About their new album (out April 1st!) they said:
THE UNRAVELING OF PUPTHEBAND is our favourite record we’ve ever made. We recorded it holed up in this big old American Horror Story mansion in Connecticut owned by our friend / producer Peter Katis. We were there for 5 weeks, living together, making the record at all hours, not really leaving the house except to get groceries. As the weeks passed, we seemed less and less rational, objective, and sane. You can hear the band start to fall off the cliff, and because of that, I think this record is our truest and most genuine to date. There is nothing more PUP than a slow and inevitable descent into self-destruction. We can’t wait for you to hear it. It’s a complete disaster in the best way.
Come be excited about PUP! They're so fun!

def correct that this band should've broken out of the rolling emo thread by now

I loved The Dream is Over, was a bit disappointed by Morbid Stuff but I'm excited about the new one yes

Love their latest single. I watched the video and saw it was directed by Whitey McConnaughy. I thought to myself, "Where have I seen that name before?" and realized he's directed probably all of Red Fang's videos. It makes perfect sense.

PUP always have amazing videos too. They all by that dude as well?

No, it looks like a couple of Canadian guys did the other ones.
Not to hijack the thread but if you love stoner rock you could do worse than checking out some Red Fang videos. They are hell of a lot of fun.
I am debating whether or not to check these guys out when they come to Portland in April. I already am seeing two other shoes the same week.

their best album. Totally Fine and Filing for Bankruptcy are so good

I didn't mean to start and then disappear from this thread forever. I don't know that I think it's their best album (though Robot... and Totally Fine are way up there with their best tracks), but then I felt that way about Morbid Stuff at first and it became my favourite so who knows. I love the little Godspeedy bit at the end of Four Chords.
Anyone debating whether they should see PUP live or not should definitely take a chance on it. The several times I've seen them have been amongst the most euphoric gig-going experiences of my life. The loudest band that still has an entirely lovely crowd.

I love the Four Chords, they separate the catchy stuff from the (soft of) more experimental songs and finally from the amazing coda
