Would be tremendously grateful if people could point me in the direction of various female-singer kind-of-modern-day vaguely-motown-y-vaguely-wall-of-sound-y-but-not-necessarily-quite-this treats in the vein of "Some Kind Of Bliss" by Kylie and "Walk Right Through" by Raissa and "Be My Baby" by Vanessa Paradis, and things. The tracks mentioned here are probably a better indication of what I'm after than the misleading description is.
