And his new album Total Swarm For Young Men. Been going for quite a few years but this has the feel of a major breakthrough, not that I'm not going to explore his entire discography after this. As I said earlier,

Imagine a gay Gareth Liddiard trying to make a speculative sci-fi concept album but being assailed by chaotically immaculate IDM throughout, all with a melodic sensibility of Montreal wouldn't baulk at, and it being the best music

I mean, is this not the greatest and most enticing Bandcamp write-up you've ever seen

So, it is the destiny of humankind—(in the sense that it is inevitable)—That all humans will collapse into a swirling hive-mind mass—A "swarm," you know—You get the picture, or anyway, you will—Boundaries rendered meaningless—Recursive disintegration—Again I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing—But it's probably happening—(just inevitable)—And it's probably me and my friends who will be the first—Not that we're special—(in fact, I guess when all this is apparent we will truly not be special—in a sense we will never have had a chance to be special)—But it takes a kind of deviant to get the ball rolling—Need have an open mind—(in more than one sense)—That's all I'm saying—Anyway—This is how it might happen—And why I think it should happen—I mean I'm excited—You don't have to be—This is just how I think it might happen.

Oh yay, I will listen to this ASAP. (I could've sworn I posted in this thread when you first put it up but I guess I just went away and fell in love with Total Swarm without saying anything.)

This might - might - be even better, it's utterly overwhelming

Christ, this is so good. Not quite at the end yet and so far nothing strikes me as as much of a "play it on a constant loop for days" song as 'Hecatomb', but you might be right that it's an even better album overall? There's so much in it, need to switch from computer speakers to my stereo on the next listen to get the full effect.

Hecatomb is utterly monumental aye, but I'd say tracks 5-7 on this are maybe even better

Not many people have captured the full panic and anguish of this moment as elegantly and vividly as this
