Surprised there's no thread for Yeule yet. Their music is so texturally lovely and exciting. Maybe more of a RYM artist than an ILM fave?
Glitch Princess is the album I've been returning to most this year. It's definitely AOTY contender for me. So many incredible moments. Eyes is heartbreakingly beautiful, but I think the heart of the album is the one-two punch of Too Dead Inside and Bites on my Neck. Texturally perfect songs imo.

"bites on my neck" is fantastic but the rest of the album didn't stick with me

I love everything about the Yeule record - the production, the mix, the songs, lyrics, and voice, the combination of oddity and vulnerability. AOY contender for me too.

Ufo I'm interested in why the rest of the album didn't stick with you. The other songs aren't too different, texturally if not structurally. The big difference is that Bites on my Neck has a consistent four to the floor beat. And I mean valid if you prefer that.
Did you like Serotonin II at all?

wonderful record, even if the last track is a bit long

it's the sort of 'didn't stick with me' where i don't remember it well enough to articulate much of a critique now lol
i didn't really care for her debut either

Four hours and almost 44 minutes isn't that long...
For real though, that track is only on the digital release. None of the physical releases have it - not even an edit. I think it's a punk move because they also released the full song as a single.

So new album is getting rave reviews but haven’t got chance to listen to it yet.

it's decent, definitely their best yet by a fair way, but there's something about it that kinda bothers me. slightly too restrained and polished in a way that doesn't really do it favours? it's good but nothing exciting and ok, sure, it's hard to make shoegaze revival stuff truly exciting but the craft on display here makes me think they should have been capable of doing something really cool

i think maybe it's just the songwriting isn't that good and it's really using the sound design as a crutch? these songs aren't sticking with me much

^funny because I'm listening to softscars for the first time and there was a moment (I forget which track) that definitely reminded me of "Anthems for a 17-Year-Old Girl"

Actually going back I realize I did listen to Softscars and liked it fine, but this one grabs me more.
