i'd forgotten about him - i liked 'kit and holly' though in retrospect it's a bit like moby 'we are all made of stars'. i also had a thing for an mp3 called 'make the city the sound' but i never bought anything. now he has a new record out? so what's it like?

hi scifi paul, how are you? :)
it is 4:14pm but i admit i only got up a few hours ago
it's a beautiful sunny day tho - i think i'll go outside and listen to something less 3am/chilly than 'make the city the sound'

actually i've just realised it sounds like a dark backstreets version of that yello song

I'll have more cohesive thoughts later once I've listened to the new album, but that there first one is easily one of my favorites of the last few years. I'm hoping the Mute sale to EMI doesn't shut him out from what so far has been a very good home for him...

This is easily Echoboy's best work yet. The only qustion I have is : will this record be officially released before the end of the year so i can put on my favourite 2002 LP list....?

For those of you who'd like to try a track from it, I can recommend you "Good on TV" which is quite amazing...

I guess what he needs now is a good backing band. Should he give a call to the Oasis manager ?

I had *completely* forgotten about Kit and Holly, and you've made me very excited about the thought of listening to it again.

I actually like We Are All Made of Stars as well... just its whole air of soppy innocence. If the rest of Moby's entire catalogue wasn't so fuck-awful I would tell people this more often.

No it's a delayed release, that was due in September - then suddenly pushed back to 2003 late January. The reason for the switch was so Echoboy could tour..tour..tour..with other artists to increase awareness of the new Echoboy music, then release the album.

The Autumn release schedule was very busy this year, so maybe it was the right decision from Mute's point of view to delay.

will this record be officially released before the end of the year

*blink* How odd! You mean it was released in America first? My copy isn't a promo copy as far as I can tell and it's definitely a USA release. I guess I wouldn't have expected a Mute release to turn up here rather than there first...
