Lisa O'Neill - All Of This Is Chance

Anybody heard this? The most beautiful, sparse, harsh record I've heard in ages.

Lisa O'Neill's an Irish folk singer who's been around for a bit - she did a cover of Dylan's All the Tired Horses for the finale of Peaky Blinders - but I hadn't really listened to her with intent before the interview with the Quietus she did recently.

From the first song, quoting Patrick Kavanagh, I was amazed. So many amazing choices of phrases and notes. I haven't listened to anything else in four days.

That's a wonderful, vivid review, Piedie Gimbel. I read it already in the first hours after hearing the record, and it helped me make sense of it all.

Cool little film there as well, NickB. Love them playing in the van.
