On what thread can we talk about Eyelids album - A Colossal Waste of Light . It’s jangly power pop w/ a bit of psych sorta from Portland, Ore produced by Peter Buck. On a U.S. tour now. Jack Rabid of Big Takeover is a fan

need an indie rock thread, imo ... but actual indie rock, not the "indie" that has become totally amorphous thanks to Brits, streaming playlists, marketing bullshit, words no longer having meaning, etc.

So is there a rolling 2023 thread that Water From Your Eyes would fit on? Quirky art-pop getting love from Pitchfork and NY Times

curmudgeon, Tuesday, 30 May 2023 18:21 (two years ago)

just make a new thread!

The Hot Mulligan album that came out this year is a fave of mine so far. That Militarie Gun album took a few tries for me but loving it now.

Does Wednesday fit in here, because Rat Saw God is one of my favourites this year for sure.

not sure but they fit in here: a thread for the North Carolina twangy indie-rock band Wednesday

who is Dayseeker and why have they sold out a venue in my town well in advance?

is this a band i should know? or a band with a song on a popular TV show or something?

alpine static, Friday, 22 September 2023 07:23 (two years ago)

I looked at their "fans also like" section on spotify and didn't recognize even one. Maybe they're like christian or something. Or metalcore, a genre I don't have much connection to these days.

I'm loving the new Code Orange album, a lot of it sounds like early Linkin Park but I love it all.

Saw videoclip of Fiddlehead doing New Order's "Ceremony" as a tribute song for Boston promoter who died . Also finally listened to their own music - they have their retro emo punk style down

Couldn't find the 2024 version of this thread but wanted to say I'm really enjoying the new 95Corolla. It's not breaking any new ground or nothing but it's hitting a spot I sometimes need hit. Also the new Oolong.

is there a 2025 emo thread? anyway the new home is where album is amazing. much less screaming, way more classic rock influence than in the past. the riffs are very tasty, and they add a lot of pedal steel + harmonic to give some heartland touches.

the single "migration patterns" was a major highlight. was not expecting robbie robertson-esque riffs from this band, but it works surprisingly well

yeah the new Home is Where is great. I need to spend more time with it.

I know they're kinda cheesy but I'm also enjoying the new La Dispute.
