I just heard their 2020 album England is a Garden and I'm kind of obsessed. Had no idea they were still making good music. Thoughts?

Yeah, didn't realize they'd done all that 'til reading their wiki just now! Woman's Gotta Have It was the one that grabbed me, with doorways into things I'd just glimpsed in the Indian-encouraged rock, not the Indian classical imitations, of George Harrison. Didn't get into the highly acclaimed When I Was Born... as much as expected, should get back to it and all they've done since. Other faves?

They have been pretty brilliant over the past 15 years. The drums and bass guitar playing are so enjoyable to me. And of course the cultural flourishes are very fun and refreshing. "Double O Groove" & "Urban Turban" - both superb. "Judy Sucks a Lemon" & "England is a Garden" - very very good. "Hold on it's Easy" - meh it is ok for an anomaly but missable.

Why does Jacques Dutronc get a shout-out in "Brimful Of Asha"? Was he big on the subcontinent?

“We put everything in that track – all the stuff we loved from Trojan Records to Jacques Dutronc to Mohammed Rafi."
