Best song on TOO-RYE-AY that isn't "Come on Eileen"

I have great affection for just about every song on this album, but the pure drama of "Liars A to E" sweeps me up every time.

I think this is my favourite Dexys album. Several very strong contenders here but I'm going with 'Let's Make This Precious', as perfect a mission statement as they ever recorded.

Hard to decide between Old and Plan B. They're a great one-two punch

Has to be Let's Make This Precious which is up there with Geno and This Is What She's Like as their finest moment. I love how it doesn't just keep the momentum of The Celtic Soul Brothers, it's somehow even more thrilling. It's probably my favourite Kevin vocal. The whole album is brilliant though. Almost as perfect as the debut.

Plan B

otm - I was thinking I prefer the single version (JIMMY!) but god that intro, & the whole arrangement has the Too-rye-aye surge, KR's at his most incomprehensibly intense & the stomping outro that breaks into "I'll Show You".

a) bought my tickets for the Duke of York's residency

b) Listened to Projected Passion Revue & thumped a wall in excitement harder than I intended at moment where Soon goes into Plan B.

Excited, knuckles hurt slightly, can't wait till April.

The slower songs on this album knock me out.. All in All, Liars A to E, Old, Until... gonna go with Liars though

Impulsively voted Plan B. Then later went back to relisten to the whole album and forgot how nice "All In All" is. The live show from this tour looks like it was quite a production -- I count at least 11 people on the stage.

The between song transitions definitely elevate the material. It's such an effective trick, both on record (Skylarking also does this well) and live, that it always amazes me that more bands don't segue all their songs together, but instead just let all the momentum die for a few seconds.

& it doesn't even look like they've added The Brothers Just, who are with them by The Tube in December.

Had to go back down the dexys rabbithole to get a name for them tbh but it has reminded me how much I love 'Let's get straight from the start' - could (maybe) get my vote here if it were on the album.

btw for anyone who likes dexys but has not previously dug, the 'There There My Dear' at about 7 minutes into the vid I just linked is the best.

I am enjoying '- as it should have sounded' slapped onto the end of every track from the 22 mix on the streaming services. Should be all caps, Kev. You're going soft.

Yeah that particular clip has been posted somewhere here at least once before and it's amazing.

idk I love it but more for the roundabout chat and what-she's-not-likes - 'the scum from Notting Hill and Mosley' - it used to thrill me when it opened up, not so often recently.

I don't stick on DSMD much now - can't find my copy of The Director's Cut & thought Kevin Rowland's 13th Time made it a better album. I miss it. I don't think the song exists at all streaming?

Didn't vote in this because while I love Searching for the New Soul Rebels and "Come On Eileen," I never really warmed to this album! Weird, I know.
