First album in four years. Album cover has boobs, birds, and fish (well, eels), as always.

First song is called "Last Word" and I like it a lot. Sounds like Baroness, with some nice male-female vocal harmonies and a surprisingly shredtastic guitar solo.

i like how they have a real defined cover aesthetic like iron maiden (in that they have an aesthetic not that it's similar)

had difficulty getting into the last one but purple remains all-time for me. psyched

The last album left me not so much disappointed as ambivalent, EXCEPT for Gina's lead guitar work. She's added a very cool dimension to Baroness, and I like where this new track is going.

I liked the last album a lot. The only two I never listen to anymore are Blue and Purple.

Stoked for this one. I absolutely loved the last one, thought it was absolutely fantastic, even if the production wasn't the greatest.

I like their messy, blown-out production — it makes me think "Maybe this is what other people like about Royal Trux."

the new song sounds super clean to me in weird ways. i don't listen to very much rock but generally i think there's something fresh and weird about their production lately, couldn't put my finger on it tbh.

Baroness have totally gone prog on this album, and I think it's easily their best since Yellow. Some really exciting moments, and the lead guitar work is something special.

Cannot wait to hear the full thing.

I couldn’t make it through the single
My tastes have changed I guess

Listening to the whole album for the first time and it rules so hard. Heavier than they've been in a while, but proggier too.

That sounds like exactly what I want to hear. My copy shipped yesterday, supposed to be here next Monday.

This album gets better every time I listen to it and I've listened to it like four times since Thursday.

this album is basically destroying me. some of the lyrics and the big bellowing soaring vocal lines are devastating. people are talking about prog in the arrangements, i guess i don't really know what prog is tbh. pretty sure there's a celeste on one track. some sick ass groovy drumming sections. they are a pretty idiosyncratic band? i'm not sure everything really gels but it's always compelling. idk i probably need more time with it which i will happily spend. the ending of magnolia, "heavy weight, one more stone / leaving flaming arrows" really does it for me.

i guess it's a glockenspiel, not a celeste.
