really like this, can anyone confirm that there is a mandolin in the mix

also kind of wild that she was paid £30 for a standard sunday studio session and had to sue for credit/royalties decades later about a vocal she invented on the spot for a song on one of the most popular records ever

I recorded her a couple of times in the late 90s, a really cool lady, and when asked about PF, she always said, buy me lunch one day and I'll tell you the whole story.

That's awesome! You did buy her lunch though, right? Or was it more like she doesn't actually want me to buy her lunch, I dunno what the vibe is in the actual professional music recording industry

I found out about her because she appeared on an Alan Parsons Project record, apparently it was Alan who put in the good word to join the Pink Floyd session, but she recorded lots of singles I am working my way thru presently, astonishing singer

I’m surprised to learn that the singer on the Dark Side of the Moon Track was white. The two backing vocalists I remember from the Division Bell tour who wailed on this track, were black (Durga McBroom and Claudia Fontaine, according to wiki), so I assumed the original singer had been, too.

I mean perfect storm, lightning in a bottle whatever but I have put together a handful of instrumentals and if I had told a friend of a friend to just invent a vocal all of a sudden and got "The Great Gig in the Sky" after a couple takes I would never stop talking about it

Sam Brown also sang it on The Division Bell tour
