Make it stop

zacata, Tuesday, 22 August 2023 18:45 (one year ago)

Nah, I don't see Zero Boys on the list

But his face would not turn into hot Kirby (Evan), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 18:47 (one year ago)

Cyborg is so great, I voted for that because nobody else probably will

out-of-print LaserDisc edition (sleeve), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 18:50 (one year ago)

I like this because it's extremely unperson, a little surprised by the Prince and Tricky. Also didn't know that 'Sister' is apparently the ILM consensus Sonic Youth pick.

Random Restaurateur (Jordan), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 18:51 (one year ago)

Double Nickels

Yessongs was the one that surprised me.

The Terroir of Tiny Town (WmC), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 18:53 (one year ago)

Vote Yes!!

frogbs, Tuesday, 22 August 2023 18:54 (one year ago)

Between Miles and Minutemen, going with Miles

The Triumphant Return of Bernard & Stubbs (Raymond Cummings), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 18:55 (one year ago)

tons of contenders but any poll with Space Ritual on it is going to be Space Ritual.

stirmonster, Tuesday, 22 August 2023 19:12 (one year ago)

Slayer! But could have gone Miles, Klaus or Herbie.

(picnic, lightning) very very frightening (Chinaski), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 19:53 (one year ago)

Kate (rushomancy), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 20:00 (one year ago)

Amazing list, unfamiliar with half of these!

Snoopy is a cat, who lives in a cage (flamboyant goon tie included), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 20:36 (one year ago)

Check out Diabolical Conquest, especially the last track — one of the longest death metal songs ever (almost 17 minutes)!

read-only (unperson), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 20:40 (one year ago)

I considered putting Edge of Sanity's Crimson on mine even though I haven't listened to it for years...would that be considered a 40 minute death metal song?

Random Restaurateur (Jordan), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 20:42 (one year ago)

Slayer but Bad Brains was a very close second

earosmith (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 20:42 (one year ago)

yes I strongly considered the Bad Brains S/T

out-of-print LaserDisc edition (sleeve), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 20:46 (one year ago)

Minuteman by process of elimination (we have no overlap in taste)

H.P, Tuesday, 22 August 2023 21:18 (one year ago)

15 or so albums I love on this list. Nice to see that Tricky album making an appearance!

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 22 August 2023 21:35 (one year ago)

minutemen is prob my fav but voted for pete rock and cl smooth cause i spun that recently and fell in love with it again

is he disgruntled adrian? (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 21:38 (one year ago)

Earth, Wind & Fire – All ‘N All

yes

the dreaded dependent claus (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 21:40 (one year ago)

Might've gone with Capsule just based on the inclusion of Capsule but I'm way less familiar with that particular album. Pre-Millennium Tension is monumental and unstoppable so that

Prop Dramedy (Old Lunch), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 23:38 (one year ago)

Lots of great stuff, but P.E. for me.

a man often referred to in the news media as the Duke of Saxony (tipsy mothra), Tuesday, 22 August 2023 23:40 (one year ago)

Number of albums heard: 19

Favourite: Of Human Feelings, possibly my favourite jazz album

Least-favourite: Slayer, I don't get it

Nicest surprise: Is This Desire, offputting though much of it is

Unheard, but most want to hear: Cyborg or Braxton

I'm a huge Yes fan but have little love for their live albums!

Halfway there but for you, Thursday, 24 August 2023 16:39 (one year ago)

Yessongs was the first thing I ever heard by them in full, not counting "Roundabout" occasionally showing up on classic rock radio. I was very surprised by how hard it rocked, especially "Yours Is No Disgrace."

read-only (unperson), Thursday, 24 August 2023 16:52 (one year ago)

I have to vote for crescent mainly because the ballads are sooo good that I want to hear them on my deathbed - it's usually only the 4th or 5th or 6th coltrane album you hear about which is a real shame as it's more accessible than some of the more famous ones

interesting rollins choice, not an obvious one but I respect it

very nearly voted bad brains as one of the only punk albums that still hits me really hard - and the punks who reject the reggae tracks just don't get it man - but in the end I denied them over the gay weed incident

Based on how many if these I love, I can't wait to listen to the ones I've never heard.

missed the deadline, but would have voted for Reign in Blood.

beard papa, Friday, 1 September 2023 00:37 (one year ago)

I would’ve gone for Double Nickels if I’d seen this (though it’s not my favourite Minutemen album).

The Bad Brains ROIR tape is also great!

Nice to see Beg to Differ on a poll. Both that and Prove You Wrong are all time classics for me.
